Thanks.
I had to stop by Slakey Brothers in Santa Cruz to pick up a few more fire collars this morning and swung by the wye and saw the UP track crew hard at work. They said the tracks at the wye needed a lot of work and I hear they will be there for another week. The Roaring Camp track crew is also doing MOW work in Santa Cruz and they had to respond to the crossing gates being down across Highway 1 very early this morning. Someone intentionally broke one of the bonding wires on the rails that brought the gates down. I understand the Roaring Camp crew had a difficult time responding due to the heavily backed up traffic and one of the Roaring Camp crew had to skateboard to the crossing gates to make it through. When I left Santa Cruz I noticed the gate arms were being held in the vertical position by rope.
Here are a few pictures from the Santa Cruz wye this morning.
