Even granting non-union labor costs, and even granting that they already own some miles of track, do they really think this can be profitable? I'm all for them if they can make a go of it, but what do they know that the other railroads do not? Didn't Amtrak get started because the private railroads were bellyaching about having to run losing passenger trains alongside their profitable freights?
