Re: Engine 4443 and the "PAL JOEY" scene....
For those of you who weren't around to experience Oakland Pier, check out this clip of the intro to the Frank Sinatra motion picture PAL JOEY...

I was standing close by watching everything-- I was TEN years old--my Grandpa kept me out of school to see history in the making.
Note: SP 4443 also pulled the "Fresno Flyer" excursion in 1957, one of several fantastic SP STEAM-powered fantrips coming out on VIDEO for your pleasure and enjoyment SOON. Trips covered range from 1951 thru 1958. We had a great team in putting together this 70-minute production for all of you to enjoy! We think you'll like it!
Besides the Producer, there were THREE "technical consultants" to assist in putting this stuff together. "Phil Gosney", Amtrak Engineer and All-Around SP Guy..... "Evan Werkema", well-known rail historian and WINTERAIL Projectionist.... and myself ..Ken Shattock (KRK) ...
WATCH for the release this year of **SP STEAM FANTRIPS** DVD-- 70 Minutes...
**Music** **Superb Narration** **MAPS** **STILL PHOTOS** **RARE MOTION PICTURES**
Cheers.
