Reading the Wikipedia bio of Dr. Demento ( Barry Hanson ), I see where he is ( was ? ) married to a former Union Pacific RR clerk !!!
I was SOOO lucky to have grown up in SoCal during a great radio age, where I could listen to FOUR HOURS of Dr. Demento -- LIVE -- every Sunday evening. My dad was sure my brain would rot from such exposure -- he was RIGHT !!! I also enjoyed listening to DJs' Paraquat Kelly & Fraser Smith on KMET, as well as baseball announcers Dick Enburg ( before he went to NBC Sports ) & " Big D " -- Don Drysdale calling CALIFORNIA Angels games, as well as the great Vin Scully on L.A. Dodger games. I even enjoyed hearing Bill Keene & his " SIG Alert " traffic broadcasts on KNX Newsradio, unless I was stuck behind one of them !!!
