The movie Duel was the inspiration for my becoming a truck driver !!!
Actually, the Espee train scenes in the movie are rather cool, with SD - 35's on the Soledad Cyn. line. Another movie to feature Espee was To Live and Die in L.A.. A foot chase scene includes the footbridge over Bullring Yard, with an Espee crud below. The big car chase scene ( it won a Stuntman's award )features a Santa Fe CF -7 @ 8th St. yard. Also, the movie Union Station, ( duh ) was filmed @ LAUPT, although William Holden's office in the film does not actually exist. The film shows the upper grille work above the main entrance as Holden's office, while the actual depot interior goes all the way up to the vaulted ceiling. The movie The Shining used the stairway inside the Harvey House @ LAUPT.
The TV show NCIS has used Fillmore & Western in at least one episode.
The TV show In The Heat of the Night has a train in the opening credits.
Many Looney Toons cartoons featured trains, including Porky Pig, and Tweedy Bird playing engineer in Sylvester's ear !!!
Combining 2 different formats, there are the phoney Pacific Electric scenes in the animated movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit ?
