The Curve

As a teenager growing up in Central Pennsylvania, I became a railfan in 1972. In October of that year, my father took me and my brother to the Curve and I've been there most years since then. A track has been removed, the K4s has been replaced with a GP9 and the locomotives went from black to blue and now back to black, but it is still one of the most impressive places to experience the drama of heavy duty railroading.
Ironically, getting good photos is difficult, especially with recent tree growth and greater enforcement of no tresspassing. In response to the comment about the video with obstructions, that is the reality of trying to follow locomotives and freight cars as they round the bend.
The best way to enjoy the Curve is worrying less about getting great photos and just enjoy the pageant of watching and listening to long freight trains struggle up the Curve or ease on down the Curve.
