I doubt the DMUs are that quiet, but they are quieter than any freight or passenger locomotive (which aren't that loud to begin with anyway); the horn issue can be dealt with by installing quiet crossings along the route (which would also reduce most of the noise from freight trains as well).

This is just more ranting and raving from yet another stupid NIMBY who moved into the area without checking things out firsthand; just ignore it like everyone else does.
