Side bar: the Port of Portland has been increasing its share of auto EXPORTS. Ford is now sending various cars out of T-6 to Korea. Additional amounts are expected. And further more... while Portland may have a small share of the container pie, the Columbia River system (including the POP) exports more wheat than any place in the country. And much of these commodities come by rail.
