As to the first sentence, "yes and no, but I mostly agree."

As to the second sentence, I call BS... if someone wants to be obsessed, being obsessed about composition is not a terrible thing. It can help them create photos that they are proud of.

I guess you take anything and say "don't be obsessed by it," but in the overal scheme of things, wanting to be a better photogapher isn't one of them.

(Personally, I find Marty to be a damn talented photographer.)
