As of this morning, the detailed itinerary indicated that on July 9 "No.844 will be repositioning/turning at Coeur d'Alene and returning to Spokane." First off, this could only mean Coeur d'Alene Junction since that's where the wye for the CdA Branch is located and the branch no longer goes into CdA proper. Second, this mention of 844 contradicts all other info which said 844 would NOT be part of the Northwest tour. UP now confirms that the bit about 844 turning at CdA is incorrect and will be promptly removed from the itinerary, and that the run to Spokane will, of course, be powered only by the Es.
