Essex steam photos
All,
Finally getting caught up on my backlog of Photoshopping: follow the above link to the photos from my May visit to the Valley Railroad in Essex, Connecticut.
I went into the trip wanting to exploit more of a shallow depth of field, and in processing a few of the images I tried to remove some of the digital from the equipment used, giving them a look made by human, not computer. The overcast day with periods of rain played into my objective.
2-8-2 #3025 is a Chinese built SY coal burner, rebuilt after a 2008 enginehouse fire to mimic a New Haven (New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad) Class J-1 locomotive, all of which have been scrapped.
Love that Edsel – wish it were mine!
Enjoy,
Matthew
