Winslow Junction photos

All,

Follow the above link to my quick visit at Winslow Junction, where the CNJ’s Blue Comet once stopped, and shore bound passenger trains passed through at 90mph. Now partly taken over by nature, some by the scrapper, the scavenger hunter, copper wire seeker, rust, and graffiti artist. A very still quiet morning amongst the titans of the former Santa Fe, Bessemer, Susquehanna, Erie Mining, and Canadian National Railroads. Sadly, none look to have wheels turning anytime soon.

Stripping away color and the conversion to black and white enhances textures, tones, shadows, contrast, and shapes – at least to my eye so catching.

For the megapixel counters: other than the first photo; all were taken by a 9-year old 11.4MP first generation digital SLR and fixed 50mm lens. Old school technology!

Click on “Slideshow” at the top right of the screen, or an individual thumbnail for a full-sized view.

Enjoy,
Matthew
