Crawford Hill Issues?

Hi everyone,

I am currently in Alliance, NE working my way to North Platte for the UPHS Convention. I was coming north into Alliance today and saw a northbound loaded coal train heading into Alliance from the south. About 3 hours later, the same train headed east out of Alliance.

Does anyone know if this is a common sight? It seems that there must be a derailment or MOW work taking place between Alliance and Gillette, WY.

Does anyone know of any issues on the railroad that would cause this detour?
