Snowsheds/Donner question

Hi, what year was the snowshed removed between tunnels 35 and 36, the site of the 1952 snowbound 'City' train? I read Signor's book, where on page 118 he has a caption that indicates between Truckee and tunnel 13 the sheds had been removed there by 1923.
On page 158, he writes that only 8.5 miles of shed remained on the district by 1940.

I'd like to narrow this down a little, especially for the shed that was between tunnels 35 and 36. Also, did that shed cover both tracks or only the original alignment?

I don't have access to Dr. Church's book regarding the rescue operation.
