It has taken hold--------everywhere--most notably on highway 1 south from Carmel to SLO----they used it for erosion control, just as they did with ice plant (Hottentot fig) and now the invasive plant people are having fits about it all. Husband heads up the Invasive plant killers at Point Lobos and spends every 4th Wednesday with a group pushing the Sisyphus stone up the hill trying to get rid of it all. THe other invasive killer is hemlock which the dairy cows ate when the world was dairy farms around Point Lobos and Elkhorn SLough.
One generation's solution is the next generation's problem. Look at the problem with Kudzu in the south------brought it in for cattle feed from Japan and the cows turned up their noses at it but it now grows profusely everywhere. Sigh.
