Why is it a waste of taxpayer dollars? The purpose of emergency services is to handle incidents exactly like this. I guess you could say it's a "waste" every time there's a DUI crash, a suicide, a heart attack on someone obese, a stroke on someone who didn't take their meds, someone who ran a red light and hit a pedestrian.....In other words, a routine day in the life of a firefighter, paramedic, and police officer.
