Eureka & Palisade #4 on the Durango & Silverton

I finally got to see and ride behind "Eureka" this past weekend during the annual Railfest in Durango. I had seen photos of the locomotive as a youngster and had always wanted to see it operate. I had planned to attend Railfest last year (my 1st year living in Colorado), but other commitments kept me away. Once I heard this might be the last year of operation (the FRA extension for the 15 year / 1472 service day inspection expires in 2013), I was determined to make it to Durango.

I rode the Friday trip to Cascade Canyon and then chased the Sunday trip to Silverton. This video combines a little footage from both days.
