Typically narrow gauge engines are only about 12' tall. To fit the loading gauge, they had to remove anything taller than the cab roof for this service. Note that the air horns, air conditioning and radio antennas are removed from the cab roof. The inertial air hatch and the radiator fans have been lowered. The dynamic brake blister remains, but the fan and grids are now located below the radiators, accounting for the extra vents.
