The line North to Davenport needs minimal work to bring it up to Class 1 standards and I believe some type of service will be offered to Davenport in the next year. The folks at the Davenport Roadhouse are very excited about this future opportunity for service to Davenport. When I was up in Davenport a few weeks ago I learned Debra Goodman, Special Events Director Iowa Pacific Holdings, stayed there last month and was very impressed with the Davenport Roadhouse’s ability to accommodate busloads of travelers.

The line South of Santa Cruz needs significant work, but there is a long-term goal to bring it up to Class 1 standards. The main focus for the next year will be to grow the freight business in Watsonville and repair the structures along the line.
