The full-length dome lounge is a former Santa Fe car that has also been part of the original Auto Train fleet in the 1970s and the Holland America Westours fleet in Alaska.
It's now owned by Iowa Pacific Holdings, which painted it in Illinois Central colors for the company's Pullman Rail Journeys service between Chicago and New Orleans.
This service, which is scheduled to start in November, will have a five- or six-car section attached to Amtrak's "City of New Orleans". The Pullman section is supposed to include a former IC round-end observation.
For this service, the Pullman Rail Journeys website is also showing floor plans for an ex-NP dome sleeper; a 10 roomette, six double bedroom car; an 11-double bedroom car; and a six section, six roomette, 4 double bedroom car.
