Obviously, I don't have all the facts, and I know nothing of that line or operation, but I am very curious how they passed a clear block, then hit a improperly lined switch. If this is signaled territory, the switch is supposed to be wired in to the signal circuit. If the switch was inadvertantly left open, they should have got a red block, then flagged past it at restricted speed. I suppose some vandal could have opened the switch after they past the last signal...?
