Thanks Bob, that's more info than I had on hand and I was stationed there from June of '66 till late May of 69. Never made any real effort to catch switching on the base, but did see a pair of PAs in '67 on the wye. No camera with me and by the time that I got back from the barracks with it, they were on the main and heading back to Barstow.

If memory still serves, Effie Corum is who was cited as the source of the name. Her married name was Pelton, I think.
