Re: Amtrak over Tennessee Pass

Prior to being closed 15 years ago, there were various re-routes of Amtrak #5 & #6 via the pass. Right before the route closed, there was a slide just West of Moffat Tunnel, #5 had passed before it happened and #6 was late enough that they held it and then detoured via the pass. Seems to me, it was sometime in early 1997. It should also be noted that the Rio Grande Zephyr detoured a few times via the Pass as well. I have never seen any pictures of these, though. Hope this is helpful.
