While working at an all Alco shortline in NW Arkansas I was called out for an accident investigation at 3 AM on a Sunday morning. Two men were playing chicken with a southbound 10,000 ton freight at 49 MPH. They hit one man, with him leaving a nice "face print" on the pilot sheet of the lead C-420! We looked around for quite some time with the county sheriff and state police before finding a trail of small blood drips, following them led to the front porch of a local house. The man in the rocking chair on the porch was drinking a beer! He did not seem to notice the nice sized piece of skull missing! He survived the encounter, saving him from a posting on The Darwin Awards web pages, but I bet that was a he** of a hangover the next day!
names and places left out if in case their are still legal hassels on this!
