Eventually yes in some situations, the hills will slide enough to become stable. It will take years and years though depending on the size of the hill and type of dirt/rock that is yet to come down.

On the whole millions of years geological time scale the tracks were laid and the escarpments made yesterday. It will be a long time before the hills slide enough to be stable. In the video you can see after the slide there is still a lot of dirt left on the hillside.
