I might be wrong, but I think the idea behind reporting marks stems from AAR interchange rules. This then implies equipment delivered to connecting roads, which usually means freight cars, et. al. If that line of thinking is correct, then the Key System would have interchange freight equipment.

Otherwise, KSTL, like LATL would suffice as to desginate ownership. I don't think that qualifies as a reporting mark.
