Soooooo.... the TRUTH finally comes out. Rail America & CORP are trying to squeeze money from the shippers & local governments AFTER they unilaterally shut down the Coos Bay Line !!! Who among the educated didn't see this coming ??? I think blackmail is a better word to use than partnership.
Will RA/CORP refund a portion of the shippers' payments to reflect the increased costs of trucking their products ??? Will RA/CORP refund part of the states' payments to help pay for increased wear & tear on local highways ??? Will the lines' shippers be eager to return to RA/CORP to transport their products if the line is reopened ???
I am very impressed with the comments of Rep. DeFazio, and agree completely. BTW, doesn't the FRA/STB have authority over the ENTIRE railroad, tunnels included ???
