As best I can figure the Starlight was backing into LAUPT with extra cars for the 'Reno Fun Train' and derailed on the Southwest connector track curve. All other trains (Surfliners and O'side Metrolinks) had to use the Northwest connector to access the station. Apparently the Starlight revenuve equipment was not involved. When I departed LAUPT on SCAX #666 an Iowa Pacific full dome was still there with one axle hanging off the rail, Amtrak and Metrolink guys everywhere doing spiking & checking. Amtrak Ocean View was there too but on the rails at our passing. My Metrolink train backed out of LAUPT and reversed once out on the main.
