All you NWP fans......next time you are in downtown Chico, thinking about the Sacramento Northern and not wanting to stop.......check out Needham Stained Glass, downtown across from StarBucks. Not meaning to promote anyone's business, but this place has done stained glass renderings of SP, WP, NWP and other RR madallions for years. These are true works of art, about two feet in diameter and he usually has at least one example hanging in the store of each. The SP is a miniature of the skylight that adorned the ferry side of the Oakland Pier for decades. Although NWP had nothing like it in real life these would have done justice to any of the ferries. I recall the NWP one he had in the store had perfect colors. Enough to bring tears to your eyes, and wallet.
