The location is Gallup, NM and the date was December 18, 1943. A Westbound mail train hit a switch engine at the East end of depot area. The mail train was running in the night fogg and over ran a red stop signal. Two engine crew employees were killed. I think these pix's were taken by the late Jack Thode.
