I recall that Convair in San Diego was a subcontractor for the B747 Horizontal and vertical stabilizers. Espee did have a small fleet of covered well cars for moving these items from Santa Fe ( at Hobart / 1st Street Yard L.A. ??? ) to BN in Portland, OR.
