It's my understanding that Pleasonton would now welcome the train into Downtown. Apparently they have heard stories from the Niles merchants about how many extra customers the NCRY trains are bringing them since Niles became a stop for the trains.

As to operation, NCRY has been running a motor car on a regular basis to the eastern end of the line during the Summer for a few years. Further extension of the tracks toward Pleasanton is underway, but as always it is slow due to lack of $$$$ and volunteers. I understand they have track on hand to go part way, but will need lots of balast and labor to install it.

I am not a member (too many other things I am involved with) but I do ride once in a while and donate to their track fund. I look forward to riding all the way to Pleasanton some day!!!

Drew
