There has been a lot of discussion the past few months about Hot Rivets and how to install them. As we are working on a major boiler project that includes a number of riveted repairs, we decided to do a short video about some of the aspects of a rivet job. Now look, as with my other videos, this video is not a detailed step by step process for installing hot rivets. What it is however is a partial answer to many of the questions that we are asked about installing rivets and also an answer to questions posted here and on other pages. Our videos are designed to answer a few questions and give a quick glimpse of how we do it.
It is noted also that the ASME and national Board are working on new written procedures of code installations of rivets. As I attended the past meeting of the national board, we were asked to send in any suggestions of comments that we may have that may aid the process. As such, I invite all of you to send in specific notes or ideas that you may want the board to consider. Many of the board members hang out on these pages. You can also send hard copies to us at Wasatch and we will make sure that your letters make it to the meetings. You can mail letters to;
