As spectacular as it was it is most likely the end of this shortline. Bridges (particularly wood trestles or trestle approaches to steel spans) cause the most serious cases of "heartburn" to shortline operators.
While we can usually weather small mishaps a loss such as this one would mean the end to even the best financed operation.
I'm sure if it were still being operated by the Class I it would not be rebuilt nor would there be any consideration for the shortline (particularly a new operator bringing the line out of bankruptcy) to try to rebuild.
