As a follow up to Espee99's link to Alex's pics from Lerro's
Great Western charter with 2-8-0 #60 at the Black River, I
bring further views from the east coast - this time, featuring
New Hope and Ivyland's 2-8-0 #40 as Lancaster & Chester #40.
These lines operate roughly 15 minutes apart from each other
and at one time (when the Black River ran further east to
Lambertsville, NJ) they would whistle off to each other from
across the river.
BR&W's #60 is a Colorado transplant while NH&I's #40 was from
the South, in South Carolina.
