The City administrator has strongly hinted that the Rhinelander Railroad Museum (Rhinelander WI) either fix up and restore the Narrow gauge engine log car and business car and a Soo line standard gauge caboose or he will have it removed. This little museum is awesome and they survive on a sparce 2000 budget from the city the rest comes from donations. I have been there several times and it is a free museum that has a great model train display and is filled with local rr pics and the most wonderful depot that is fully restored. Well worth the stop. They sponsored two steam train rides in the old Wisconsin central days but now with CN owning the track no more excursions, There is a story on WJFW tv in short they need $175,000 or they are gone. I am sending a check to the city earmarked for the RR museum and I hope you do too.
