Actually the rails are not disconnected; but whether they are in any shape to carry that crane, tender and a locomotive (likely the SW-1000 assigned to switch the Guilds Lake trackage) is another story, most of the trackage hasn't been used in years if not decades, and of course it's all covered in asphalt with many of the flangeways filled in with dirt, gravel and who knows what (and probably some solid asphalt in places).
Frankly it's a shame it can't be pulled and at least stored at ORHF, if nothing else as a static display to be slowly restored (cosmetically at first)...really, if the group over in Hermiston had more resources, it'd be great to see a steam crane next to a steam snowplow.
