Train Rides on the Oregon Pacific Railroad This Saturday

For anyone that may be interested, the Oregon Pacific Railroad has some new dates for public excursion train rides. They are now….
Saturday June 15, noon to 6pm
Saturday June 22, noon to 6pm
Thursday July 4, 10am to 10pm
We’ll add more dates as we get closer to July for the rest of the July and August and beyond. The next event is this Saturday. We’ll be operating the OPR 1413 our open air car and our 900 caboose. We may have a speeder on hand as well to offer rides.
On June 22, we’ll be operating the same train with the addition of Chris McLarney’s restored UP caboose.
On July 4th, we’ll be operating the same train as June 22, with the addition of around half a dozen speeders available to give public rides. We may also have our No. 100 locomotive and our Santa Rosa business car on display as well. We’ll be operating all day and into the night on this one as there will be fireworks at Oaks Park at 10pm.
Ticket prices are still only $5 per person to ride on the train or $10 per person to ride on the locomotive.
One option for passengers that we’re exploring is that our train runs right past the Oregon Rail Heritage Center, the home of Portland’s three famous Steam Locomotives, the SP&S 700, SP4449 and O&RN 197. If passengers want to board our train at Oaks Park and ride with us to the Heritage Center and get off and explore the museum during business hours (1pm-5pm) we will try to accommodate you and pick you back up on our next trip, probably around an hour or so later. So, again, our next event is this Saturday, only a few days away. We’ll be at Oaks Station at noon. Oaks Station is located at 7805 SE Oaks Park Way, Portland, Oregon 97202.
