Great pic! Thanks for posting...but this photo was taken in West Oakland when Phoenix Iron Works was more productive, not Jack London Square. The photo location was converted into lofts in 2000 after much of the foundry was evicted for replacement freeway for I-880. The company is still very much in business (since 1901) but the downsized works which no longer makes any castings is now at 499 Embarcadero Street near Jack London Square.
