Quite a writeup in this weeks Capital Press (Ag newspaper) on the McCoy Grain Terminal being built on the W&I Railroad outside Rosalia. Some excerpts:
"The facility will load 110-car shuttles, the industry standard, in 10 hours."
"The facility receives grain at 40,000 bushels per hour and ships grain at 60,000 bushels per hour."
"About 5,000 feet of the planned 12,000 feet of rail has been laid..." "...anticipates it will be complete by the end of August or the first week of September."
It goes on to explain that there are 15 bridges between the terminal and Marshall that need repaired or replaced to handle 286,000 lb cars. The state is funding the repair of 8 bridges this summer.
Also, the facility plans to conduct loading tests in Mid-August and to load trains by September.
