Sure, why not. After all, the navy named ships after a guy who publicly proclaimed his naval service as the "worst two years of my life" (Cesar Chavez) and a guy who was never in the navy (Medgar Evers). Evers did serve honorably in army. BTW, Nick, Polly's Pies did name a pie after Marion Berry.
