My source of information is "Waycars of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy RR" by Holbrook & Lorenz. Your caboose was built for and by the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad in their Aurora, Ill. shops in Jan. 1920 and was railroad Class NE9. It lasted past the 3/2/70 Burlington Northern merger and was subsequently renumbered 11197; no information whether it was repainted into one of the BN color schemes. In May 1975 it was sold to a Frank Rogerson in Centralia WA. At some point, someone with a closer affinity to the Northern Pacific than the CB&Q must have repainted it but retained the original Burlington number. The various railroads had different names for this type of car, and on the CB&Q it was a "waycar". Hope this helps.
