We had several 500 watt halogen lights on thin black stands placed around the area which allowed photographers a chance to actually see the scene and take their time shooting it. This in contrast to the much easier to set up flash units where everyone would have to shoot at the same time and take their best guess on settings while in the dark.

Unfortunately, we blew few a few more bulbs then we brought spares for - by the end of the night, due to drops or just blown out bulbs, we were two short of what we started off.
