Not familiar with the routing but
chances are they don't have enough crews
qualified any more. No need to waste the fuel on the
grades or the helpers. Nice thought though.

Also what a convenient place for a wreck.
Lots of space to rescue then spot panel
track. Sad part is did the crew fall a sleep?
Wish them a speedy recovery!
