Well .. I can tell you while the boiler it'self is in pretty good shape, she needs some serious attention:
There are two cracks at the rear corners of the mudring that need to be welded;
The cylinder head on the Fireman's side is cracked, but may have been welded by now;
An entire rebuild of the firebox needs to be done as the firebox has been removed with the intention of said rebuild;
The pilot wheel assembly needs to be rebuilt;
Bearings on the drivers need to be replaced, (brass filings could be seen on the frame and on the wheels after each run);
Air compresser needs to be rebuilt (an old compressor is currently on the engine that is untested under steam);
Air tanks need to be pressure tested and one may need to be replaced;
There is possibly an fuel leak into the water tender. The fuel tank needs to be removed for inspection.
These are just a few of the items I can recall to this point. Who ever ends up with the 19 has some serious work with major expenses to face.
I do agree with Dean, the 19 does need to be kept in Yreka. We miss hearing her 7 chime whistle. :o)
