On a historical note, this line, in Santa Fe days, was the route of the "El Pasoan" passenger train. This service, in its final years until its demise in 1968 as part of Santa Fe's big passenger train losses, was the home of ATSF's two RDCs, DC-191 and DC-192. These are the same two cars involved in the tragic 1956 derailment at Redondo Junction while in "San Diegan" service.
