The "Brooklyn Hospital Train" was a ferry move of rolling stock from the old Brooklyn Yard roundhouse in southeast Portland. The locomotives and cars are both privately owned and owned by several of the organizations that care for the city's steam locomotives -- The Friends of 4449 (SP GS4 #4449), the Pacific Railroad Preservation Association (SP&S #700), and the Pacific NW Chapter NRHS.
The 866 is a former SP&S FA2 and Long Island RR cab car owned by a Portland-area railfan. He is also the owner of the former Amtrak SDP40F, #644, in the move. The F40PH in "Daylight" paint is former Amtrak #231.
The stock was moved into secure storage to clear the roundhouse area for its eventual razing (in August 2012). In a later move, the three steam locomotives, as well as several other diesels and cars, vacated the roundhouse in June 2012 and were moved to the new Oregon Rail Heritage Center.
