Yesterday I wandered over to Industry CA to take a short ride on the Rainbow Train, a product of the Southern California Rail Safety Team. Their goal was to help the public be safe around trains. The crossing used was Nogales Street, one of the most dangerous highway-rail grade crossings in the nation with at least 2 incidents in August. Most local railroads contributed at least one piece of equipment including UP8065, AMTK156 (heritage), Metrolink Stay Alert Stay Alive coach 208, and BNSF7145. The coach car is Metrolink's safety message car with graphics inside and out.
