Bridge fire on UP's Oakland Sub at M.P. 89.1

Last night, a possible arson fire broke out on the bridge at Mile Post 89.1 on UP's Oakland Sub (former WP), causing damage between bents 1 thru 8. This is between Ortega and French Camp, south of Stockton. Firefighting efforts, including a water train from Stockton, and repairs began immediately. The bridge is expected to reopen sometime later today. Traffic is being re-routed via the parallel Fresno Sub (former SP).
