Wasn't just Ch13 that was deficient on that score. None of the local newsies made the point of not entering the crossing unless you can leave it, even if the gates are currently inactive. Similar behavior is seen at light rail crossings all the time - lucky for the car drivers, light rail can stop a little more quickly than Amtrak. Bets on Amtrak getting sued for not stopping in time?
